In the first week of December, the ANP reported a new record for the port of Montevideo: the mobilization of more than one million teus.

A TEU is the cargo capacity of a 20 foot container. The Administration stated that this record is due to the increase in foreign trade and the movement of Paraguayan cargo. "By exceeding one million TEUs mobilized, Montevideo consolidates its position as one of the 20 ports in Latin America and the Caribbean that mobilizes the most containerized cargo".
