An Inter-institutional Port Cooperation Framework Agreement has been signed between the National Port Administration of Uruguay and the Administration of Port Services of Bolivia ASP-B.

With this new agreement, the ship owners with cargo from Bolivia will have benefits for the port operation in the port of Fray Bentos. The President of ANP, Juan Curbelo, stated that the agreement strengthens both States and stressed the importance that "Bolivian cargo can leave through the port of Fray Bentos in the best conditions to compete in the world, be more efficient and generate lower costs". The executive manager of ASP-B, Dante Justiniano said that Bolivia "needs a port of transfer and overseas access to the markets of Europe, and this possibility that we are making available as is the port of Fray Bentos, for us is a great joy because we will be able to show our importers and exporters that there is an important space for the movement of the economy towards the Atlantic".
